Michigan City man sentenced to 52 months in prison | USAO-NDIN
SOUTH BEND — Sergio Adams, 33, of Michigan City, Indiana, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Robert L. Miller, Jr. on his guilty plea to being a felon in possession of a firearm, the United States Attorney announced. Clifford D. Johnson.
Adams was sentenced to 52 months in prison followed by 2 years of probation.
According to documents in that case, in November 2021, police responded to an alert and recovered a handgun that had been possessed by Sergio Adams. At the time of this offence, he was on probation. A search of Adams’ criminal history revealed that he had three prior felony convictions, each of which prohibited him from possessing a firearm or ammunition.
This matter was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives with the assistance of the Michigan City Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Frank E. Schaffer.
