The Macomb County GOP Executive Committee on Thursday unanimously approved a resolution of censure against State Senator Ed McBroom, chairman of the Oversight Committee, as well as State Senators Lana Theis and John Bizon, according to party officials. The censorship follows the panel’s determination that the 2020 state election results were accurate and not subject to fraud.

The wording of the resolution focused on the committee’s recommendation that Michigan Democratic Attorney General Dana Nessel investigate the people who pushed the allegations of voter fraud “to raise money or advertise for their own purposes.” , the Detroit News reported.

“If you profit from misrepresentation, that’s pretty much the definition of fraud,” McBroom noted in July.

As one of its recommendations, the committee suggested that the state attorney general consider investigating “those who used misleading and false information about County Antrim to raise funds or advertise in their own ends ”.

McBroom, whose district does not include Macomb County, said the censorship had not fazed him.

“I’m not going to worry too much about this. I don’t run in Macomb County,” he said, according to the Detroit News.
