East Lansing, Michigan – The Michigan State Men’s Basketball Team conducted their first official practice of the 2021-22 season on Tuesday, September 28.
Before training, the head coach Tom izzo met the media for 30 minutes and spoke about the excitement surrounding the team as they enter their 27th season.
“It’s our first day, it’s an exciting day,” said Izzo. “It’s a little different now, because we can train in the summer, four hours a week, but it’s been a great summer for us. I’m sure most coaches say that all the time the Weight room was a really interesting place. I always say it’s a place of character building and I think we’ve built a lot of character. “
The men’s and women’s basketball teams will hold an open practice at the Breslin Center on Saturday, October 2 before the Spartans’ Homecoming soccer game against Western Kentucky at 7:30 p.m.
Michigan State opens the regular season on Tuesday, November 9, when they face Kansas in the Champions Classic at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The men’s basketball team will host a pair of exhibition games, first on Wednesday, Oct. 27 against Ferris State, and then on Thursday, Nov. 4 against Grand Valley State.
