MSU Gymnastics Announces 2023 Big Ten Schedule

EAST LANSING, Mich. — Michigan State Gymnastics has announced its 2023 Big Ten conference schedule, as released Thursday by the conference office.

The seven-competition schedule includes five dual competitions, two of which will be held at Jenison Field House. The schedule also includes the league’s annual Big Five meeting to be held on February 25, while the Big Ten championships are scheduled for March 18 in Iowa City, Iowa.

The Spartans host defending Big Ten champion Michigan on Sunday, Jan. 22 to start the conference season.

MSU then ventures to College Park, Maryland on Sunday, January 29 to take on Maryland, before returning home to host Penn State on Saturday, February 4.

Michigan State rounds out conference action in Iowa City, Iowa, for a meet in Iowa on Saturday, February 11 and Illinois the following Saturday, February 18, in final prep before the Big Five Meet. Saturday February 25. The Spartans return to Iowa City for the 2023 Big Ten Championships on Saturday, March 18.

The Spartans are coming off a stellar year for the Greens and Whites in 2022, as Michigan State qualified for the playoffs as a team for the first time since 2016 and entered the Western Regionals in Seattle. , Washington, going to the Regional. Finals and third place. MSU broke the team’s overall score three times in 2022 in addition to setting new program highs on vault, bars (49.500), beam (49.500) and floor (49.675). The grand finale for MSU was a new program best score of 197.650 set in the regional finals. The Spartans finished the season with a program-best ranking of ninth in the nation, with a ninth-place finish on floor, 10th on beam, 15th on bars and 19th on vault.
