This Michigan town is one of the rudest in America

If you’ve ever traveled to another state, you’ve most likely encountered your fair share of rude and obnoxious individuals. In order to prepare you for your next inner journey, Preply, a language course website, conducted a study to identify the grossest cities in the United States. Here’s how they did it:

“We surveyed more than 1,500 residents of the 30 largest metropolitan areas in the United States and asked them about the level of rudeness in their city, including the importance of certain generally rude behaviors, to help travelers determine what to expect when visiting Respondents also answered questions about cultural differences abroad.

A city in Michigan landed on the list: Detroit!

Detroit ranked No. 6 out of 14. On a scale of one to ten — where ten is the most rude — the city has an average rudeness score of 5.70. The study also found that Philadelphia is the most rude city in the country with an average rudeness score of 6.43, while Austin, Texas was declared the most polite city in the country with an average score of coarseness of 3.91.
