Women’s golf finishes the game at Windy City Collegiate Classic
East Lansing, Michigan – The Michigan State Women’s Golf Team finished 12th among 15 teams at the Windy City Collegiate Classic with a score of 54 holes of 58 over par 922.
The Spartans had a final round of 22 over par 310 Tuesday (304-308-3100.
Stanford won the event with a score of 14 over par 878, while Virginia was second at 22-over par 886. Florida placed third (26-over par 890), with Texas (28-over par 892) in fourth and Oregon completed the top five at 35 above par 899.
The Spartans had two individuals in the top 20, led by the seniors Valery Plata (Floridablanca, Colombia / Colegio La Quinta del Puente), who finished tied for 14th at 8 above par 224.
First-year student Brooke Biermann (Wildwood, Missouri / Lafayette) landed a par 75 of 3 in the final round and tied for 19th place at a par 225 of 9.
Second year Valentina rossi (Rosario, Argentina) and first year student Katie Lu (Plainsboro, NJ / West Windsor-Plainsboro North) tied for 66th place at 23 above par 239, while the seniors Haylin harris (Carmel, India / Carmel) finished in 74th place at 28 above par 244.
The Spartans rea are back in action October 15-17, playing in the Tar Heel Invitational, hosted by North Carolina at the UNC Finley Golf Course in North Carolina.
